About this place
Choose a drink made with seasonal fruit, or take your time over a meal too. At Bar Agami in Shin-Koiwa, cocktails share the menu with dishes including pasta, gratin and curry. Seasonal fruit cocktails are listed from around 1,500 yen. One diner enjoyed a gin-based peach cocktail for its juicy texture and natural sweetness, then ordered a Margarita. Moving from a fruit-led drink to a classic makes for an appealing way to pace the evening. Another diner singled out the shiso-leaf Mojito, sweetened with wasanbon sugar: its clean, dry taste was complemented by the sugar’s gentle sweetness. It may also appeal to anyone who finds mint drinks a little strong.
For food, the 4-cheese pizza is a tempting option, with one diner describing it as rich and a good match for drinks; they enjoyed it even more with honey. An assorted appetiser platter is also on the menu, and one visitor mentioned enjoying it with marinated oysters and cured ham. The range makes it easy to keep things light with a few bites or add a pizza as the centrepiece. For a more substantial meal, there is gratin with large prawns and seasonal vegetables, the pasta special of the day, and Agami’s special curry rice. This is not just a place for a quick drink: it also suits an evening that starts with dinner and moves on to cocktails.
The drinks list is broad, with whisky, cocktails such as gin and tonic and Martini, and wine. One diner who was unsure what to order said they told the staff what they liked and received suggestions. You can arrive with a particular bottle in mind or choose with a little help once you are there.
